The criminal case on the murder of the Deputy head of the Main Operational Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Lieutenant General Yaroslav Moskalik, has been sent to court. The relevant information was published on October 1 on the official website of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation.

"The criminal case has been sent to the 2nd Western District Military Court for consideration on the merits. The investigation into the unidentified accomplices continues," the ministry said in a statement.

Ivan Kuzin, a suspect in the murder of a Muscovite, was detained on April 26, after which he confessed. Later, on April 27, it was reported that Kuzin was charged with committing a terrorist act. It was clarified that he was promised a reward of $18,000 for committing the terrorist act. Then the defendant fully admitted his guilt and expressed his willingness to confirm everything stated during the interrogation during the check at the scene.

On September 26, it became known that the investigation had completed the investigation of the criminal case of the terrorist attack that killed the Muscovite. According to the press service of the department, from February to April 2025, Kuzin, who was recruited by the Security Service of Ukraine, prepared an explosive device and installed it near the entrance of the house on Nesterov Boulevard in Balashikha, where the Muscovite lived.
