Battalion commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Alexander Gladchenko was sentenced to 17 years for a terrorist attack on a military unit in the Volgograd region using drones (UAVs). This was announced on October 1 by the Southern District Military Court.
"The court decided to find Gladchenko Alexander Olegovich guilty of committing a crime under Part 4 of Article 205.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, on the basis of which he was sentenced to imprisonment for a period of 17 years," TASS reports the instance.
Gladchenko chose a military unit stationed in the Volgograd region as the target of the terrorist attack, the agency recalled.
Earlier, on May 14, a court sentenced Viktor Kirpichenko, a senior soldier of the 44th separate Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (VFU), to 16 years in prison for obstructing the evacuation of residents of the Kursk region. Kirpichenko also repeatedly opened fire on the Russian military and residents of the region.
