The Investigative Committee and the FSB prevented terrorist acts involving minors
Teenagers were massively detained in the Chelyabinsk, Orenburg and Bryansk regions, as well as in the Republic of Bashkortostan, most of whom were charged with publicly calling for terrorist activities and participating in the activities of an organization that is recognized as terrorist in the Russian Federation. This was announced on October 1 by the official representative of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Svetlana Petrenko.
"Children came under negative influence from the outside, including through messaging applications," the UK said in a statement.
One of these cases was the detention of a 14-year-old resident of the Republic of Bashkortostan, who corresponded with users in order to promote a terrorist organization and distribute materials related to planning mass killings in educational institutions of the city of Blagoveshchensk.
In the Orenburg region, a 15-year-old teenager participated in the activities of an international terrorist movement, where he expressed his intention to destroy property and post neo-Nazi graffiti.
Also in the Bryansk region, a minor administrator of a Telegram channel posted a video promoting the activities of a banned terrorist organization.
In the Chelyabinsk region, three teenagers tried to set fire to a relay cabinet on the railway, the investigative authorities stopped their actions.
Most of the minors have been charged with crimes under Part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code ("Public calls for terrorist activities, public justification of terrorism or propaganda of terrorism committed using information and telecommunications networks"), Part 2 of Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code ("Participation in the activities of an organization that is recognized as terrorist in accordance with by the legislation of the Russian Federation"), as well as Part 1 of Article 30, paragraph "a" of Part 2 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Preparation for the commission of a terrorist act by a group of persons by prior agreement").
A preventive measure related to isolation from society has been chosen for all the detainees. The investigation continues to investigate.
On September 2, three teenagers were arrested on suspicion of attempting to stage a terrorist attack at an enterprise in Udmurtia, allegedly on the instructions of the special services of Ukraine. It was clarified that in July of this year, teenagers aged 15, 16 and 17, when trying to find a way to make quick money, made contact with a representative of the Ukrainian special services in a messenger. They were instructed by their supervisor to commit a terrorist attack on a military-industrial complex facility in Izhevsk. The minors are currently in custody.
