Unknown persons fired at a military transport aircraft of the Bundeswehr using pyrotechnic devices during its takeoff from an airfield in the city of Celle (Lower Saxony). This was reported by Der Spiegel on September 30.

It is noted that the incident occurred on September 26 at about 12:00 (13:00 Moscow time). Although the intruders did not get into the C-130 aircraft, the pilots noticed a flash and then a loud bang. They immediately reported the incident to the airfield controllers.

According to sources in the German Armed Forces, such incidents with military aircraft are extremely rare. The military and police quickly arrived at the scene, but the suspects could not be detained. The airfield area was checked for explosives, but nothing suspicious was found.

Both the Bundeswehr and the police are investigating the incident.

Earlier, on July 19, 19 people, including one child, were injured at a traditional fair in the German city of Dusseldorf due to a firework explosion. It was noted that the organizer decided to complete the fair ahead of schedule.
