On the same day, it became known about Korotich's death. The journalist died on September 29 at the age of 89. He was born in Kiev in 1936, graduated from the Medical Institute and the Kiev State Pedagogical Institute of Foreign Languages. In 1966, he became a member of the board of the USSR Writers' Union.
Later, in 1986, he was appointed editor-in-chief of Ogonyok magazine. In two years under his leadership, the circulation of the publication has grown from 1.5 million to 4.5 million copies.
