New automobile plant to be built in Moscow
A new automobile plant for the production of municipal equipment will be opened in Moscow. This was announced on September 30 on the website of the mayor of the capital.
The city will lease to the investor a 5.7-hectare plot of land in Krasnopakhorsky district near the village of Kostishovo. The opening of the enterprise will create 750 new jobs. The duration of the project, which provides for the construction of a building with a total area of more than 40 thousand square meters, will be three years.
The plant will be built as part of a large-scale investment project (IAP), with private investment amounting to 15 billion rubles. The MAP status is assigned to objects that are important for the development of the capital. These include, for example, production and innovation centers, multifunctional and sports complexes. Developers implementing such projects can obtain land plots for rent from the city.
Earlier that day, it was reported that, as Anton Alikhanov, head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, said, passenger cars of more than 20 brands are currently being produced in Russia, and about 50 models have been put on the assembly lines.
In August 2025, 37.5 thousand passenger cars were produced in Russia, which is 27.4% less than a year ago. In just eight months of this year, 420 thousand passenger cars rolled off Russian assembly lines, which is 2.9% less year-on-year.
