Tauber's lawyer intends to challenge her verdict in a higher court.
The verdict of Moldovan MP Marina Tauber, who was sentenced to more than seven years in prison in the case of alleged financing of the Shor party, will be challenged in a higher court. On September 30, her lawyer, Sergei Moraru, announced this after the meeting.
He stressed that the whole world should know that his client had never financed the Shor party. These actions were not part of her duties, besides, Tauber had never had that kind of money. Thus, the sentence is illegal.
"Tauber filed an annual income statement, there was no data on such expenses. I don't know how many years will pass before the courts recognize the truth. We will appeal this decision, and we will also appeal the decision to arrest her in the Appeals Chamber," RIA Novosti quoted Moraru as saying.
Earlier on September 30, a court in Chisinau sentenced Tauber, executive secretary of the executive committee of the Pobeda bloc, in the case of alleged financing of the Shor party, sentencing her to seven years and six months in a semi-closed prison. The decision was made as part of a trial, the details of which were not disclosed. The politician herself was not present at the trial.
