A court in Moscow fined Telegram 3.5 million rubles.
The Tagansky District Court in Moscow has fined Telegram messenger 3.5 million rubles for not deleting information prohibited in Russia. This was reported on September 30 in the press service of the courts of general jurisdiction of the capital.
"Telegram Messenger Inc. was found guilty of committing an administrative offense under Part 2 of Article 13.41 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation, and an administrative penalty was imposed in the form of an administrative fine in the amount of 3.5 million rubles," the courts wrote in the Telegram channel.
Earlier, on August 11, the court fined Telegram for a similar amount for violating the law on the procedure for restricting access to information. The maximum prescribed penalty under the article is a fine of 4 million rubles.
