Beglov spoke about the degree of readiness of the M32 highway overpass
The construction readiness of the M32 highway has reached 20%. 50% of the overpass supports and 25% of the retaining walls are ready for the construction of the future highway interchange with Primorsky Highway in the Lakhta Center area, Governor Alexander Beglov said.
"The highway will connect the Primorsky Highway in the Lakhta Center area with the promising M-49 highway, become part of the new transport framework of St. Petersburg, simplify communication between the northern districts and other parts of the city and improve the quality of life of Petersburgers," said Beglov.
The M-32 highway project is being implemented as part of one of the ten development priorities in St. Petersburg — "Convenient public transport". "It is very important for the development of the city's transport infrastructure," stressed the Governor of St. Petersburg.
For the overpass interchange, specialists are constructing 23 monolithic reinforced concrete pillars with a height of 4-11 m. The construction of retaining walls on two of the six sites has also been completed, which will ensure the reliability and stability of the structure. The governor recalled that the project provides for noise barriers, sidewalks, a bike path, as well as a pedestrian crossing in the body of the embankment.
The M-32 highway will connect the southern part of the Primorsky district with the northern and Vyborg districts, which will connect the Lakhta Center with the Western High-speed Diameter. In October, experts plan to complete one of the stages of the reconstruction of the Primorsky Highway in order to open traffic along it in the direction of St. Petersburg without hindrance for motorists. The construction is expected to be completed in 2027.
