On September 30, a court in Moscow upheld the verdict of Dmitry Kurakin, the former head of the property relations department of the Russian Defense Ministry, who was sentenced to 17 years for stealing timber from military units.

"The court of Appeal decided to leave the verdict unchanged, and the appeals were dismissed," the decision says, as cited by TASS.
