Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban announced on September 30 that the West was planning to rob Ukraine, hiding behind the desire to protect it.

"The situation is clear. The West talks about protecting Ukraine, but in reality it is an imperialist struggle for land, resources and money," Orban wrote on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

According to him, this is how the Ukrainian people are being robbed. He also noted that those who are pushing Ukraine to continue the conflict, "give out exploitation under the guise of protection."

On September 25, the Financial Times reported that Ukraine needs to receive another $23 billion next year to reduce the growing funding gap amid the suspension of U.S. aid. Kyiv is negotiating with the European Commission (EC) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

On September 26, the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova, said that the Kiev elite, mired in corruption, was seeking to shift the burden of "military operations to the last Ukrainian" onto European allies. According to the diplomat, the Ukrainian authorities ignore the country's social and economic problems.
