The Ostankino District Court of Moscow has imposed an interim arrest on the claim of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation for the seizure of assets of retired judge of the Supreme Court of Russia Viktor Momotov and 22 affiliated persons. This was reported to Izvestia on September 30 by the court's press service.

On September 23, it was reported that the Ostankino District Court of the capital received a lawsuit from the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation against Momotov. The Agency requires the seizure of real estate registered with third parties. The court will begin considering the merits of the Prosecutor General's Office's claim on October 8.

It was noted that the Chairman of the Council of Judges carried out illegal business activities in Moscow, the Krasnodar Territory, as well as the Rostov, Voronezh, Volgograd, Nizhny Novgorod and Kaliningrad regions. Momotov also used his immunity and inviolability to cover up illegal activities and their illegal capitalization.

On September 26, it was reported that the VKKS of Russia prematurely terminated the powers of a judge of the Supreme Court, Chairman of the Council of Judges of the Russian Federation Viktor Momotov. He has held the position since 2010, and in 2013 he was elected Secretary of the Plenum of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation. Momotov joined the presidium of the supreme judicial body in 2019. In December 2016, he was elected chairman of the Council of Judges of Russia, and in December 2022 he was re-elected for a new term.
