On October 8, the Ostankino Court of Moscow will begin considering the merits of the claim of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation to seize the assets of retired judge of the Supreme Court of Russia Viktor Momotov and 22 persons affiliated with him as part of an anti-corruption lawsuit, the court's press service told Izvestia on September 30.

On September 23, it was reported that the Ostankino District Court of the capital received a lawsuit from the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation against Momotov. The Agency requires the seizure of real estate registered with third parties. The judge registered the acquired real estate and business with trusted and controlled persons, without declaring his income. The Prosecutor General's Office allocates a separate source of income for business tax evasion of more than 500 million rubles.

On September 26, it was reported that the VKKS of Russia prematurely terminated the powers of a judge of the Supreme Court, Chairman of the Council of Judges of the Russian Federation Viktor Momotov. He has held the position since 2010, and in 2013 he was elected Secretary of the Plenum of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation. Momotov joined the presidium of the supreme judicial body in 2019. In December 2016, he was elected chairman of the Council of Judges of Russia, and in December 2022 he was re-elected for a new term.
