The former first deputy head of the Nizhny Novgorod city administration is accused of accepting a bribe of 55 million rubles. This was reported on September 30 by the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia.
According to the Izvestia source, the accused is Ilya Shtokman, the former deputy head of the Nizhny Novgorod city administration.
"The former first deputy head of the Nizhny Novgorod city administration has been charged with committing a crime under Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Receiving an especially large bribe by an official")," the message says.
It is specified that the defendant received a bribe for the management of the construction company in concluding contracts, patronage and loyal control over their execution. Law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the incident and other episodes of the defendant's illegal activities.
Earlier, on September 26, Shtokman was arrested for two months. It was clarified that the person involved also appropriated funds allocated for the celebration of the 800th anniversary of the city.
