Pensioners from the regions will receive payments for the Day of the Elderly

There are no mass lump-sum payments for the Day of the Elderly in 2025 at the federal level, but a number of regions have included them in their budgets. This was announced on September 30 by Yaroslav Nilov, head of the State Duma Committee on Labor and Social Policy.

"Individual entities assign lump-sum payments at the expense of regional budgets. This year, pensioners will receive support in the Nenets Autonomous Okrug, Yamal, Primorye, Yaroslavl, Ryazan and Chelyabinsk regions," the deputy told RIA Novosti.

There will be no special payments in Moscow: support for senior citizens is distributed through separate social programs, funds are credited to the same account as the pension.

Nilov stressed that attention is being paid to veterans of the Great Patriotic War, their widows, former juvenile prisoners and blockade runners. He also said that, together with his colleagues, he proposed introducing a single category of "Children of the Great Victory" with a common set of benefits and payments.
