TOI has learned about the possible imminent retirement of US Special Envoy Witkoff

US President Donald Trump's special envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, may resign before the end of the year. This was reported on September 29 by The Times of Israel (TOI) newspaper, citing sources.

"Witkoff is preparing to step down from his post by the end of the year, <... especially considering that a breakthrough in the conflict in Gaza seems to be within reach," the publication said.

It is noted that such a measure may be timely. However, the publication suggested that in the event of a prolonged resolution of the conflict, Witkoff's stay could be extended.
