An aftershock of magnitude 6.1 was recorded in the Pacific Ocean near the Kamchatka Territory. On September 30, the Main Directorate (GU) of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in the region reported with reference to the Kamchatka branch of the Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

It is noted that the distance from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky is 98 km. The aftershock occurred at a depth of 48 km. No tsunami threat has been recorded.

"According to instrumental data, the earthquake was felt with a magnitude of up to 5 in various areas of the regional center," the agency said in a message on its Telegram channel.
