Dutch cargo ship Minervagracht caught fire after Yemen attack
The fire started on the Dutch cargo ship Minervagracht after the Yemen attack. This was announced on September 29 by the military of the European Union (EU), which controls the waters of the Red Sea, the Indian Ocean and the Persian Gulf.
"The MV Minervagracht, which did not request the protection of Eunavfor Aspides, was attacked 128 nautical miles southeast of the port of Aden, Yemen. As a result of the attack, the ship <...> is on fire," the ministry said on its social network.
It is noted that the ship is drifting.
Earlier, on July 6, it was reported that an attack had been carried out on a merchant ship off the coast of Yemen. It was clarified that the incident occurred 51 nautical miles southwest of the Yemeni port city of Hodeidah. The attack was carried out by several small vessels that opened fire with small arms and hand grenade launchers.
