Employees of the gas service were convicted for the deaths of five people in the Kuban

In the Krasnodar Territory, a verdict was passed against three employees of the gas service, who were found guilty of the death of a family of five people. The victims inhaled carbon monoxide.

According to the KrasnodarMedia news agency, the defendants were supposed to carry out annual maintenance of gas equipment in a house in the Seversky district. They did not reveal any dangerous malfunctions. At the same time, there was no automatic shut-off system in the boiler in case of insufficient draft and the chimney was damaged. As a result, carbon monoxide accumulated in the apartment in February 2022. Five people, including four children, were killed.

The defendants were sentenced to 2.5 years of restriction of freedom.

In the Moscow region, a court has issued a verdict against locksmiths who were found guilty of the deaths of four people. The defendants conducted a formal inspection of the gas equipment and found no violation of the working conditions of the water heater. As a result of a carbon monoxide leak, two adults and two children were poisoned.
