The transfer of Tomahawk missiles to the Ukrainian side by the United States would be a hostile decision towards Russia. This was announced on September 29 by Alexey Pushkov, Chairman of the Federation Council Commission on Information Policy.

"Such a decision, if it is actually being discussed in Washington, and not for show, would be extremely imprudent and openly hostile to Russia," he wrote on the Telegram channel.

In his opinion, such a step would contradict the policy of US President Donald Trump to avoid actions that could directly contribute to Washington's entry into the conflict. Pushkov stressed that the transfer of missiles to Ukraine would provide it with a powerful tool for direct involvement of the United States in the conflict.

On September 26, The Telegraph newspaper, citing sources, reported on the request of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky at a closed meeting with Trump to supply Kiev with Tomahawk cruise missiles with a range of over 1.6 thousand km.

On August 26, Trump announced the termination of Washington's financing of Kiev. According to him, the United States plans to increase arms supplies to Washington's NATO allies, who are currently providing military assistance to Ukraine.
