The Popular Front helps with the production of food packages for military personnel
The People's Front is helping the volunteer community to organize the production of retort packages with food for military personnel in the SVO zone. This was announced on September 29 in the press service of the Popular Front.
In July 2025, Vladislav Sevastyanov, the head of the Conservatory Z volunteer association, presented his development — a small and shock-resistant retort package that can pack daily rations for military personnel and fits in a pocket — to Russian President Vladimir Putin. Following the inspection, the President instructed to submit proposals on providing units of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation with modern mobile equipment for food preservation in the field.
"We are deploying special food production facilities for soldiers on the line of contact at field kitchens and soldiers' canteens. This is due to the fact that at the forefront, nutrition must meet special requirements: maximum lightness with maximum nutritional value. Previously, we produced retort bags on our own and reached the production of about 100 thousand pieces per month, but then we decided that it would be more rational to deliver the necessary equipment to the divisions, rather than carry packages in boxes all the time," said Sevastyanov.
Retort packages are prepared in special autoclaves, which have been upgraded to take into account the high load. The packaging itself has also undergone major refinement and can now withstand a fall from a height, for example, if it is dropped from a quadcopter. This makes it possible to quickly organize the safe delivery of food to combat areas, the press service said.
Sevastyanov added that Conservatory Z started by supplying cans to hospitals, gradually transforming products to meet the current needs of military personnel and the situation on the line of contact. After the drones began to isolate certain areas of the front, high-impact packaging was required for drone delivery.
"We support all inventors, all enterprising people. Retort packages are one of the initiatives. We are now helping to promote it where it is needed, the result is already there, as well as positive feedback from the fighters," said Sergei Samokhin, head of the executive committee of the Popular Front in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR).
It is reported that chefs in the DPR have already deployed equipment for the production of retort bags and have begun supplying units with canned food of a new type.
"The menu includes cereals, porridges, beef. Each serving is dosed, 380 grams per pack. Yesterday we had a trial batch, we got 26 kg in 70 packages. <...> We use Russian—made packages that are much stronger than their foreign counterparts and are designed to feed primarily those fighters who are on the line of combat contact," said senior chef Nikolai.
A soldier with the call sign "Leshik" shared that retort packs are practical and convenient to use.
"Two or three packages are already a guarantee that you will be provided with food for a day," he said.
Earlier, on September 25, it became known that the Popular Front would hand over a modernized UAZ SUV to Sakhalin military personnel, which would be prepared by Chinese-born Chu Wencheng and Korean Pavel Ri, head of the Tornado sports club, in one of the Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk car repair shops. The car will undergo a comprehensive upgrade, including increased ground clearance, installation of power steering, new optics and additional headlights. The body and interior of the loaf will also be completely painted.
On June 12, the Popular Front handed over 300 motorcycles to the soldiers of the Russian Armed Forces for Russia Day. The assistance was provided thanks to the support of Russians who actively participate in the nationwide gathering under the motto "Everything for Victory!".
