The expert named the mistakes in the interior when creating comfort

Comfort in a home is not only stylish decoration, but also attention to detail that creates harmony and comfort. However, even the most expensive and thoughtful interiors can lose their appeal if several key factors are not taken into account. On October 3, Natalia Vedenova, art director of the Dyatkovo Design furniture brand, shared with Izvestia the main mistakes that can deprive the interior of comfort.

"Monochrome, brought to its absolute, when furniture, textiles and walls merge into a single spot, looks featureless and lifeless. The accent creates interest — the very contrasting note in the form of rich sofa upholstery or a bright plaid. However, too many different active colors simultaneously tire the eye and create a sense of chaos," the expert said.

She drew attention to the fact that it is important to maintain a balance: the two primary colors set the tone, and additional accents are evenly distributed throughout the room.

In addition, the mistake of many is to arrange all the furniture along the walls. This makes the space impersonal. Instead, according to Vedenova, it's worth pushing furniture forward and creating functional islands. Another mistake is ignoring the scale. The furniture should be in harmony with the size of the room.

Order is the basis of comfort, but when things are scattered on chairs or tables, the interior loses its harmony. Often the problem lies in improperly designed storage systems. As a result, the standard-size closet does not hold even half of the items, and the space is being used irrationally.

The initiative, which will soon be considered in the State Duma, may reduce bills for the maintenance of living space.

"At the planning stage of the storage system, it is worthwhile to honestly assess the volume of all things: from seasonal clothes and bed linen to kitchen utensils and an ironing board. Ideally, you can design cabinets and niches along the entire height of the wall, from floor to ceiling. Use proper zoning inside: drawers, baskets, vertical storage. Do not forget about the "dead" zones — narrow niches, spaces under the bed or above doorways," the specialist explained.

Also, too many statuettes, vases, and paintings create visual noise. A few carefully selected objects are enough for a harmonious space. At the same time, it is important to avoid monotony: contrasts, such as a tall plant next to a low sofa or a smooth table surface and a textured carpet, add dynamism to the interior.

Another mistake in the interior is the chaotic arrangement of mirrors, Vedenova added. This item should skillfully increase the light and continue the lines of the interior, be it windows or corridors. This will add wholeness and an enveloping feeling to the space.

In addition, it is necessary to organize multi-level lighting: general lighting, work lamps and accent lighting, for example, using an LED strip. It is important to keep a uniform color temperature and use dimmers to create comfort.

Earlier, on August 21, Sergey Shikhov, CEO of the interior company Mr.Doors, said that making complex orders, searching for alternative materials and components, as well as studying offers during the seasonal ones, will significantly reduce costs when ordering furniture according to individual parameters.
