Over 20 years, 3.13 million new Chinese cars have been sold in Russia. Sergey Tselikov, director of the Autostat analytical agency, told about this in his Telegram channel on September 29.

From 2006 to August 2025, almost 2.8 million passenger cars, about 300 thousand trucks and about 30 thousand light commercial vehicles of Chinese brands were sold in the country. Until 2006, sales of Chinese cars in Russia were minimal, the analyst noted.

"It took the Chinese 17 years to sell the first million cars. The next two million were realized in three years. And this is without taking into account several Russian and one Belarusian brands, which also "hide" the Chinese car industry," Tselikov said.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that, according to dealers, a relatively short period of lower car prices in Russia is coming to an end. September was the first month of the year when importers relaxed their discount budgets, said Renat Tyukteev, Deputy General Director for New Car Sales at Avilon AG.

On September 25, the head of Autostat, Tselikov, estimated that in 2025 five new car brands appeared on the Russian market: Avatr, Rox, KGM, Tenet and Exlantix.
