Putin signed a law on awarding military ranks to volunteers
Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a law that provides for the awarding of military ranks to citizens who are members of volunteer formations. The relevant document was published on the official Internet portal of legal information on September 29.
According to the document, the innovations concern those who have served in such formations for at least six months, but are currently in reserve. Thus, the law exempts volunteers from the obligation to undergo military training to receive military ranks.
