The federal educational marathon Znanie has come to an end in Moscow.First

On September 28, the federal educational marathon Znanie ended in Moscow.The first, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the nuclear industry. In three days, 145 lecturers met with young people in 11 regions of our country, as well as for the first time abroad — in Abkhazia. Prominent people from various fields spoke about the past, present and future of the industry, which embodies Russia's technological might and is a reliable foundation for defense, national security and state sovereignty. More than 25,000 young people from 57 countries joined the marathon in person, which was held with the support of Rosatom State Corporation.

Commenting on the results of the marathon, Sergey Kiriyenko, First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation, noted that the nuclear industry is a matter of national pride in our country, and the guys were able to see this thanks to the lecturers of the Znanie Society. Atomprom was born as a response to the challenges of the post—war period, and peaceful achievements have inspired several generations of Russians and expanded the boundaries of what is possible in various fields - from energy and agriculture to transport, nuclear medicine and ecology. The great future of the nuclear industry largely depends on the youth, who will have to improve the lives of mankind through clean atomic energy, advanced nuclear medicine methods, new materials and modern digital technologies.

Maxim Dreval, General Director of the Znanie Society, also emphasized that the marathon was designed to introduce the children to the rich history, prospects of the nuclear industry, as well as its enormous opportunities for self—realization - and it turned out well.

"It was a special marathon for us, as it is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the nuclear industry, an industry that is the pride of the country. Our goal was to introduce young people to it, to show its greatness, scale, rich history, development prospects, and, of course, the people who made it all possible. I am sure that after the marathon, many guys will want to work in this industry and contribute to strengthening Russia's security and technological sovereignty," Maxim Dreval said.

Together with Russian schoolchildren and students, young people from 57 countries participated in the marathon, including India, China, Vietnam, Turkey, Brazil, Cuba, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Guinea-Bissau, Egypt, Zimbabwe, Cameroon, Congo, South Africa, Iran, Yemen, Latvia, Poland, Slovakia, Australia and many others. 25,000 people gathered at 12 marathon venues, 1,500 children from 86 regions of Russia attended the Znanie marathon.The first ones are thanks to Rosmolodezh's "More than a Journey" program.

Among the participants of the event there were also about a thousand already experienced employees of the nuclear industry — specialists in the field of nuclear energy, thermal power engineering, computer technology, nuclear physics, and mechanical engineering. However, the largest part of the audience was made up of young people from other fields: culture, sports, and pedagogy. This means that the program has turned out to be really diverse, relevant for both professionals and a wide audience.

The Znanie Society managed to make the 80th anniversary of the nuclear industry a truly national event, and industry specialists became national heroes. The guys greeted and saw off the scientists of our country with loud applause, and honored them as real stars. This fact pleasantly impressed the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, who took part in the marathon.

Marathon Knowledge.The first became one of the key events of the World Atomic Week in Moscow at VDNH and enriched its program with lectures by the Znanie Society lecturers. Also on September 26, marathon venues were operating in Khabarovsk, Krasnoyarsk, Chelyabinsk, Naryan-Mar, Nizhny Novgorod, Tver, Rostov-on-Don, Grozny and Makeyevka. In addition, for the first time, the flagship educational event of the Znanie Society took place not only in all federal districts of Russia, but also abroad — in the capital of the Republic of Abkhazia, Sukhumi, which is very symbolic, because this republic was one of the first to participate in the development of the Soviet nuclear industry. On the second day, the program was supported by the city of Saransk along with Moscow.

Also, on September 25, a career guidance lesson on "Industrial Russia: Nuclear technologies" was held in all schools of the country as part of the weekly extracurricular activity course "Russia — my Horizons". After the lesson, the students' interest in the nuclear industry increased threefold. A little earlier, on September 23, a themed game dedicated to the nuclear industry took place, which became one of the special formats of the marathon. The game was also included in the qualifying stage of the tournament "Knowledge.The Game: Schools and Colleges", organized by the Znanie Society.
