Oleg Chemezov, the former deputy governor of the Sverdlovsk Region, who is involved in the Oblkommunenergo case, has not been charged. This was reported to Izvestia by lawyer Mikhail Yashin.

"After the interrogation, a protocol of detention was drawn up. That is, no suspicions or charges have been filed, just a protocol has been drawn up," Yashin said.

According to the human rights defender, Chemezov was summoned for questioning as a witness in another case, to which, according to Yashin, he has nothing to do.

A source from Izvestia reported Chemezov's arrest on September 29. Earlier, on September 25, the head of the Sverdlovsk region, Denis Pasler, dismissed him from the post of vice governor. According to media reports, Chemezov is a co-defendant in a lawsuit filed by the Prosecutor General's Office regarding the use of Oblkommunenergo energy company to the state revenue. Artyom Bikov, Anatoly Chubais' former adviser as head of RAO UES, and his partner Alexei Bobrov are said to be the actual owners of this company.

On September 23, as a result of searches in Moscow at the addresses of the beneficiaries of Oblkommunenergo, the company's owner Alexey Bobrov was detained. Law enforcement officers transported him to Yekaterinburg, where he was arrested under Article 91 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Russian Federation. Tatiana Chernykh, an associate of the energy oligarchs and chairman of the Board of Directors of CTC Corporation, was detained on a similar basis.
