Sakhalin tightened the punishment for employees of the organization in the case of a gas explosion

Two employees of a service organization on Sakhalin have decided to increase their sentences in the case of a gas explosion in a residential building in the village of Tymovskoye, which killed 10 people. This was announced on September 29 by the prosecutor's office of the Sakhalin region.

"The Judicial Board for Criminal Cases of the Sakhalin Regional Court, taking into account the opinion of the participating prosecutor about the insufficiency of the correctional effect on the convicts of the imposed punishment, agreed with the arguments of the appeal, sending the convicts to a penal colony for 2 years and 4 months," the Telegram channel said.

According to the press service, the appeals were dismissed. At the moment, the verdict has entered into force.

The explosion occurred earlier, on November 19, at 13:00 (5:00 Moscow time). On the same day, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that the debris removal at the site of the collapse of the building's entrance had been completed. It was clarified that the cause of the explosion was a gas leak in a pipe section of the gas distribution network near an apartment building, which caused the collapse of one of the entrances to the house, followed by a fire. At that time, mourning was declared in the Tymovsky district.
