- Trump announced a possible investigation by the US Department of Justice into the former director of the FBI.
Former director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Christopher Asher Ray, who held this post from 2017 to 2025, behaved "inappropriately" in this position. The U.S. Department of Justice has probably already begun investigating the case. This was announced on September 28 by the head of the White House, Donald Trump.
"I would definitely imagine (that the Ministry of Justice is investigating Ray's case. — Ed.). I think that they are doing it. <...> I think that most of his service was very inappropriate," he replied in an interview with NBC News in response to a question.
Trump believes that under Ray's leadership, the Capitol was stormed on January 6, 2021, and in an interview with the TV channel, he did not rule out that the former head of the FBI could have infiltrated 274 FBI agents into the crowd of rebels who acted as "agitators and rebels" rather than law enforcement officials.
On September 25, ABC News learned about the indictment of another former FBI director, James Comey, who held this post from 2013 to 2017, on charges of perjury and obstruction of justice. Later, Comey, declaring his innocence, said that his heart was "torn" by the actions of the US Department of Justice.
