A unique operation was performed at the Sklifosovsky Research Institute of Emergency Medicine to transplant a fragment of a hand from a donor. This was announced on September 28 by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.

"The most difficult operation lasted nine hours. It took several operating rooms for its various stages. The department's specialists have extensive experience in selecting immunosuppressive therapy after organ transplantation, which prevents rejection," the message in the MAX messenger says.

Sobyanin added that after the transplant, the patient was transferred to the intensive care unit, from where he will be sent to the kidney and pancreas transplant department.
