The European media, publishing unreliable information about Russia, present it as allegedly living "on the dark side." This was stated on September 28 by Italian journalist Vincenzo Lorusso, who lives in Lugansk, Luhansk People's Republic (LNR).

With a corresponding statement, he supported the opinion of his British colleague James Delingpole, who, after visiting the Russian Federation, expressed his admiration for her in an article published by The Spectator magazine "Believe it or not, but Russia is great."

"I have read this very interesting article and can only confirm the version I have encountered. Russia is a wonderful country, and attempts are constantly being made in the European Union to distort reality," Lorusso said.

According to him, false materials often appear in Western sources of information: starting from fake information that eggs have allegedly completely disappeared from the shelves of Russian stores and ending with the fact that Russians are allegedly leaving their country en masse. He clarified that "not even a week goes by" so that he and his colleagues do not have to refute a lot of such information guides.

"Russia is portrayed as a country living on the dark side, but if you look at the Moscow metro station and compare it with two stations in Rome or Milan, it immediately becomes clear which country is actually lagging behind," he said.

The journalist added that he had visited not only Moscow and St. Petersburg, but also Siberia, in particular Omsk and Novosibirsk. During his trips, he noted the unique atmosphere of these places and the friendly attitude of the people living there. Lorusso clarified that the EU, saying that Russia allegedly threatens the alliance, is simply trying to create an enemy for itself in order to justify the money spent on rearmament.

Dutch investigative journalist Sonja van den Ende, who also commented on this article in an interview with Izvestia, on September 28 noted the author's courage in deciding to write that 99% of the information in the European media turned out to be untrue. She did not rule out that Delingpole's family and friends might have dissuaded him from this trip. The journalist clarified that many returning from the Russian Federation note that this state is very modern.
