Bild reported on FIFA's plans to change the rules of penalty shootout
The International Football Federation (FIFA) is exploring potential adjustments to the rules regarding penalty shooting. This was reported by the Bild newspaper on September 28.
It is specified that football players who kick penalties want to prohibit finishing the ball if it bounces into the field after a shot or save by the goalkeeper. However, it is still unclear how the rule will work if the ball hits the post or the crossbar.
The implementation of this rule will require the approval of the International Council of Football Associations (IFAB) and subsequent testing.
On September 25, FIFA presented three mascots of the FIFA World Cup, which will be held in Mexico, Canada and the United States. They will be Maple the moose, Zayu the jaguar and Klatch the eagle.
