Meldonium was found in the doping test of skier Andrey Parfenov. This was announced by RBC on September 28.

"Three-time Russian champion in cross-country skiing, 37—year-old Andrey Parfenov, announced that he had passed a positive doping test for meldonium," the publication says.

The press service noted that the athlete bears full responsibility for violating the anti-doping rules, but asked the team and fans to support Parfenov in this difficult situation. They stressed that they had repeatedly been convinced of his "purity" and high level of sportsmanship.

In order to understand all the circumstances of the incident and prevent similar cases in the future, a thorough internal investigation will be conducted.
