A schoolboy was seriously wounded in the stomach, allegedly during an incident involving teenagers on the Arts Square in the center of St. Petersburg. This was announced on September 28 by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region.

"On September 27, the Central District police received a report that there was a teenager with an abdominal injury in the Arts Square," the department said in a Telegram channel.

On the spot, police officers found an 11-year-old schoolboy with a stab wound to the abdomen. The boy was hospitalized in serious condition.

Three teenagers aged 14, 15 and 17, residents of Lomonosov, were taken to the police department on suspicion of involvement in the incident.

A criminal case has been opened into the incident under Part 2, paragraph 3, Article 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Intentional infliction of serious harm to health using an object used as a weapon").

Earlier, on September 8, in the Krasnogvardeysky district of St. Petersburg, a teenager on a scooter had an argument with a cyclist and opened fire on him. The man turned to the doctors, who diagnosed him with wounds to the back of his head and forearm. The suspect was detained — he turned out to be a 15-year-old schoolboy.
