- Sobyanin spoke about the successes of the Sambo-70 center celebrating its anniversary
Over the 55 years of its existence, the Moscow Sambo-70 Sports Center has trained more than 50,000 students, including more than 1,9 thousand masters of sports, 160 masters of sports of international class, 63 Honored Masters of Sports of the USSR and Russia. This was announced by the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin.
In a post on the occasion of the anniversary of Sambo-70, which the mayor published on the channel in the IACH, he listed only some graduates who became Olympic champions and winners of international championships. "These are figure skaters Alina Zagitova and Evgenia Medvedeva, gymnasts Maria Paseka and Victoria Listunova, judoka Dmitry Nosov and Rasul Bokiev and many other famous athletes," Sobyanin wrote.
Currently, the center provides training in more than 20 sports, including sambo, judo, sumo, rhythmic gymnastics, karate, swimming, athletics and gymnastics. More than 12,000 people receive their sports skills there, with 260 mentors working with them, including 39 holders of the title "Honored Coach of Russia".
The mayor called the unique method of "combining training and educational processes, when both a coach and a teacher work with a child at the same time," the main feature of Sambo-70.
Sobyanin congratulated the athletes and coaches of Sambo-70 and wished them good luck and new victories.
Earlier in September, the mayor of Moscow announced the completion of the first stage of landscaping of the park and the Olympic bike trail on the Krylatsky Hills. According to the mayor, the area "has been in decline for a long time, and after returning to the city, it finds a new life." "The work started last year, and we have already done a lot," Sobyanin said. — We carried out a complete reconstruction of the small and large bicycle towers — a total of 88.7 thousand square meters of pavement were replaced, which is comparable to 12 football fields."
In addition, the relief of the track built for the Olympics-80 was restored, the bike rings of which have steep bends and height differences. The specialists used archival documents in their work.
