Polling stations for the parliamentary elections have started in Moldova. This was announced on September 28 by TVR Moldova.

"Polling stations in the country opened at 07:00 a.m. (coincides with Moscow time) and will close at 21:00. It is expected that the citizens of the Republic of Moldova will take part in the voting," the message says.

It is specified that 2,274 polling stations were opened to ensure the electoral process. Citizens will be able to vote at 1,961 polling stations in the country. Special attention was paid to voters from settlements on the left bank of the Dniester River — 12 special polling stations were provided for them.

In addition, 301 polling stations will operate outside the country to give citizens abroad the opportunity to vote. The total circulation of the ballots was 864,300 copies. Most of them (756800) are printed in Romanian. Newsletters are also available in Russian (105500), Ukrainian (1500) and Gagauz (500) languages. At 08:00, the Central Election Commission (CEC) will deliver its first briefing for journalists.

On September 26, Ilan Shor, the leader of the Moldovan opposition bloc Pobeda, in an interview with Izvestia, explained the opening of only two polling stations in the Russian Federation by the fear of the current president of the country, Maia Sandu, to be defeated in these elections. He pointed out that the opposition has a high chance of winning.

On September 25, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation expressed hope for objective results of these elections, and a day earlier, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov pointed out that supporters of ties with the Russian Federation had been deprived of the right to vote.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
