The crew of an army aviation Mi-28NM helicopter struck the manpower of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) located in a wooded area in the area of responsibility of the Vostok group of forces. This was announced on September 28 by the Russian Defense Ministry.

Aviation used missiles to destroy the enemy's reconnoitered targets. After completing the tasks, the crew successfully performed an anti-missile maneuver using heat traps and returned to the departure airfield. According to the aircraft manufacturer's report, the Ukrainian military personnel were destroyed.

On September 27, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that soldiers of the Vostok group of forces seized military equipment and supplies of the Armed Forces of Ukraine during the liberation of the settlement of Novoivanovka in the Dnipropetrovsk region (DPR). It was clarified that the crews of the Armed Forces of Ukraine abandoned these vehicles and retreated while trying to rotate.
