The unemployment benefit included in the length of service does not participate in the formation of the pension coefficient and does not affect the amount of the future pension. This was announced on September 28 by Senator Natalia Koshikhina.

"Despite the fact that the period of receiving unemployment benefits, participating in paid community service and moving to employment in the direction of the employment service is included in the insurance record, the benefits themselves are not subject to contributions to the Social Fund and do not form pension coefficients. Thus, the period of receiving benefits does not directly affect the size of the future pension," she said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

According to her, you can get unemployment benefits by registering at the employment center. However, as the senator pointed out, it is impossible to stop looking for a job, since the maximum payment period takes from three to six months.

On September 18, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that the unemployment rate in the country remained at a historically low level, currently at 2.5%. He also noted that the recession (a decline in business activity) at the moment also does not threaten either Russians or the domestic economy.
