On September 27, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova called on the UN Secretariat to investigate the reasons for turning off the microphone of the Chairman of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, Annalena Burbok, at the time of the presentation of the Russian delegation.

"[Annalena] Burbok either had the microphone turned off at the words "Russian Federation" or she herself," he wrote on the Telegram channel.

She called on the UN Secretariat to look into the incident.

Earlier, on September 22, Burbock had to ask delegates to take their seats four times before the start of the High-level Plenary Meeting dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations. During the broadcast of the meeting, Burbock addressed the participants several times, called for silence and explained where they should take their seats, including reminding them of the location of the blue chairs on the left side of the hall.
