Tour operators have proposed to the Turkish authorities to strengthen control against the background of increased accidents with tourists in the country. This was announced on September 27 by the coordinator of the Pegas Touristik tour operator for the CIS, Orkhan Sanjar.

"I have already sent a relevant document to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Ministry of Internal Affairs regarding the need to introduce control over maritime traffic. Most likely, in the next few months I will receive a response from the ministry, new rules will be introduced, the purpose of which will be to control what is happening at sea," Sanjar said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

He noted that most accidents in resort regions are caused by inexperienced drivers. In some cases, incidents are caused by professionals, but not by their carelessness.

As for maritime accidents, according to Sanjar, there is practically no control in this area. Several major accidents at sea have already occurred in Turkey this year, which, according to the expert, requires the introduction of regulation for private vessels.

Earlier, on September 23, 15 people were injured in an accident in Turkey. A bus carrying tourists collided with a minibus at about 09:10 local time (coincides with Moscow time) on the D400 highway in the Konakli area. Later it became known that Russian tourists were among the injured. One of the victims of the accident reported that the cause of the accident was the high speed gained by the bus driver during the trip.
