In Russia, the amount of the fine for illegal logging will depend on the size of the tree. This was announced on September 27 by the head of the Federal Forestry Agency Ivan Advisers.

"The size of the fine depends on the volume of the tree," said Advisers in an interview with RIA Novosti.

According to him, an old oak is more expensive than a young Christmas tree. Also, the amount of the fine depends on the category of forest where logging takes place.: the more protected the forest, the higher the penalty.
