Decision of the IPC General Assembly

• The Russian Paralympic Committee (RPC) announced in a release on September 27 that it had achieved its reinstatement to membership in the IPC. The International Committee made this decision in South Korea.
• The voting was conducted in two stages, 111 delegates voted for the restoration of the rights of the PKR, 55 participants opposed this step.
• Sports in which Russians will now be able to participate with national paraphernalia include athletics, swimming, powerlifting, sledge hockey and bullet shooting.
• The RCC noted that the committee still has to work on lifting restrictions for athletes from the Russian Federation who compete in sports regulated by other organizations.
