The former commander of the 58th Army, Ivan Popov, who was sentenced to five years in prison for fraud and forgery, was transferred to a general regime colony in the Moscow region from an isolation cell in the Tambov famine. This was reported on September 27 by law enforcement agencies.

"Ivan Popov was transferred from the Tambov pre—trial detention center to serve his sentence in a general regime colony located in Kolomna," TASS quoted the law enforcement agencies as saying.
