The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment proposed to introduce accounting and labeling of pets in order to avoid their loss

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation proposed to consider an initiative on mandatory labeling of pets — this will allow, in case of loss, to quickly track down a pet, as well as solve the problem with stray animals. This is evidenced by a document published on the agency's website.

"The document was developed on behalf of the President of the country and introduces state regulation of accounting and labeling of pets, primarily dogs... Such procedures will help to quickly find the owner if the pet is lost or the unscrupulous owner decided to get rid of it. This will reduce the number of abandoned animals on the streets," the text says.
