Two children died in a fire in an apartment building in the village of Severoonezhsk in the Arkhangelsk region. This was announced on September 26 in the Main Directorate (GU) of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Arkhangelsk region.
"Firefighters carried out two children from a burning apartment: a boy born in 2023 and a girl born in 2022. Unfortunately, their lives could not be saved," the Telegram channel said.
It is specified that the fire was reported at 20:45 local time (coincides with Moscow time), a few minutes later the first fire departments arrived at the scene. Gorenje and smoke were observed in the second entrance of the house. The fire was localized on an area of 59 sq. m.
In addition, the prosecutor's office of the Arkhangelsk Region and the Nenets Autonomous Okrug reported on its Telegram channel that an investigation had been organized into the incident.
The governor of the region, Vasily Anokhin, reported on September 26 that 16 wagons caught fire near Smolensk as a result of a collision between a freight train and a truck at a railway crossing. 62 employees and 19 pieces of equipment of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Smolensk region were involved in extinguishing the fire. The train crew received the necessary medical assistance at the scene.
