Turkish President Recep Erdogan, after meeting with American leader Donald Trump, announced Ankara's intention to continue helping the Russian and Ukrainian sides in resolving the conflict.

"We are making efforts to achieve peace in all regions, primarily in the conflict zones that surround us," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

In addition, he noted the Turkish side's desire for the conflicts to be replaced by "calm and stability." Erdogan also noted that Turkey's efforts "were not in vain," as the sides carried out prisoner exchanges and also held talks in Istanbul.

On September 24, the office of the Turkish leader reported that the Turkish president, during a meeting with French leader Emmanuel Macron, announced Ankara's intention to advance the Istanbul negotiations on the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict with a focus on results.
