At least 100 people died in Nigeria when a gold mine collapsed. This was reported on September 26 by the Reuters news agency, citing the words of rescuers and survivors.

"At least 100 people have died as a result of the collapse of a gold mine in the Nigerian state of Zamfara," the article says.

Search and rescue operations are still ongoing. According to one of the local residents who participated in the rescue operation, Sanusi Auvala, at least 13 bodies were recovered from under the collapsed mine, including his cousin. One of the survivors, who is being treated for his injuries, added that out of more than 100 people, only 15 were saved.

A representative of the state Miners' association, Muhammadu Isa, confirmed the collapse and added that some rescuers had died by suffocation while trying to extract the injured. Illegal mining is a serious problem in Zamfara, where armed groups often control gold mines, leading to violence and tragic accidents.

The PTI news agency reported on August 28 that an apartment building collapsed in India, killing 15 people. It was noted that the collapse occurred on August 27 at 12:05 local time (9:05 Moscow time).
