AvtoVAZ will install emergency call buttons on Lada Vesta for free

AvtoVAZ has announced the launch of a program to retrofit Lada Vesta vehicles with the Era-GLONASS emergency call system. It involves 22 thousand cars that were produced from October 2021 to April 2022, the company said in a statement received by Izvestia on September 26.

The control unit for the emergency call system will be installed on all vehicles. Jobs for car owners will be free of charge.

The temporary production of cars without the Era-GLONASS system in Russia was allowed due to the difficulties of supplying components to the supplier that arose in 2021.

Prior to that, on September 8, a recall of 23 thousand Lada Niva family vehicles was announced in Russia for the installation of an emergency call system control unit. Owners of classic Niva Legends were also called to dealers to install a control unit for the inflatable airbag system.
