The prospects of the venture capital market will be discussed in Moscow
The Moscow Startup Summit International Conference in the field of technological entrepreneurship will be held in the Russian capital on October 1-2. It is expected that over 600 investors and venture funds will participate in the event.
The conference will discuss key trends affecting the market recovery, new opportunities, development prospects, and effective tools to support startups.
In August, a study based on Venture Guide data was published to assess the state of the Russian investment market in the first half of 2025. From the figures presented, it follows that the total volume of investments reached $83 million, which is 81% higher than last year. At the same time, the total number of transactions decreased by 16% and amounted to 62 transactions. This indicates a new trend: transactions are getting bigger, and the approach of investors is becoming more balanced. The largest transactions were investments in mature companies in the fields of HealthTech, AI and logistics. At the same time, the share of startups was 56%, and 31 new teams entered the market.
In addition, there is a trend towards a decrease in the number of active investors due to the departure of less experienced players. Venture capital funds have taken a leading position, accounting for 66% of total investments. At the same time, business angels still top the ranking in terms of the number of transactions (42%), despite a 2.4-fold reduction in their total investments. This confirms that the market is becoming less fragmented, but more resilient to external shocks.
The study's partners note that a further reduction in the key rate may attract more capital at an early stage. There is already a growing interest in Seed investments, especially in the segment of digital solutions for B2B and new educational technologies.
