President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, at a closed meeting with American leader Donald Trump in New York, requested the supply of Tomahawk cruise missiles with a range of over 1,600 km to Kiev. This was reported on September 26 by The Telegraph, citing sources.

"The request was made during a meeting that was perceived as an extremely positive meeting between the two leaders held on the sidelines of the United Nations," the article says.

It is noted that it is not yet known whether Kiev will be able to receive this type of weapon. According to the newspaper, Zelensky had previously made a similar request to former US President Joe Biden, but was refused, because then the American administration considered that such a step could lead to an escalation of the conflict.
