Almost 400 teachers have been trained in the development of Yandex Education programs

Yandex will work systematically with teachers and has already trained almost 400 people from 27 universities in 18 regions of the country in backend, frontend and mobile development skills, as well as educational practices that will help train future IT specialists. Kirill Barannikov, Head of the Strategic Development of Higher Education at Yandex Education, told about this at the Russian Internet Forum (RIF).

"At Yandex, we pay great attention to supporting novice and experienced teachers and educational program managers. Strong and thoughtful teachers are the key asset of a modern program in the field of machine learning, mobile development, and software engineering. All of our joint programs with universities are taught by staff "Yandex.“ But it is equally important for us to help universities strengthen their teaching teams. We plan to expand our work with teachers and make it more versatile and systematic. This way we not only upgrade our programs, but also ensure accessibility and improve the quality of modern IT education," said Barannikov.

The educational program includes two tracks. The first one was dedicated to professional skills: teachers took Yandex courses in development, which are integrated into university IT programs. The second track helped to develop universal competencies — modern teaching formats, student support, digital tools and methods for creating a productive educational environment.

At the end of the training, teachers will be able to transfer their knowledge to about 7 thousand students. This year, universities from the Voronezh, Kaliningrad, Rostov, Saratov, Tula regions and the Krasnoyarsk Territory joined the program for the first time.
